Start him
or sit him?

Start / Sit compares two to four players for a given week and tells you who to start. It needs no league or username.

Open Start / Sit

How to use it

  1. Search and add 2 to 4 players. Any positions can be mixed, for example to decide a flex spot.
  2. Choose the week (it defaults to the next one to be played) and the scoring format: PPR, Half PPR or Standard.
  3. Read the verdict, then compare projections, recent games, the matchup and each player’s game log.

The score

Each player gets a score:

The matchup adjustment compares the fantasy points this week’s opponent has allowed per game to the player’s position with the league average. A defense that gives up 20% more than average to running backs makes an RB’s recent average count 15% more, because the adjustment is capped at ±15%. It only kicks in after 2 completed weeks; before that, defensive numbers are too noisy.

Players ruled Out or on bye score 0. Doubtful players count ×0.5, Questionable ×0.9. Injury status is today’s, so it’s ignored when you look back at a week already played. The highest score gets the start. When the gap is under 5%, the result is flagged as a close call: go with your gut, or the later kickoff.

Defensive players (IDP)

Individual defenders are compared as DL, LB or DB and always use Sleeper’s default IDP scoring: solo tackle 2, assisted tackle 1, tackle for loss 2, sack 6, QB hit 1, interception 6, forced fumble 3, fumble recovery 3, pass defended 3, touchdown 6, blocked kick 3.

Ranks

Weekly and season positional ranks are computed from all players’ actual results with the scoring format you picked, so they match the points shown.
